'56- Removing Heater Control ****

I need to remove the heater control **** from the cable. Does it screw off or pull off? No set screw.

I hope you get an answer. The 54-55 are a little different but I am sure the ***** come off the same way. I replaced the controls on my 54 with ones from and the ***** are different. I never got the ***** off.

I think they are soldered or pressed on. I had one come off and I had a guy who worked on aircraft repaired it for me. As I remember it was a short steel sleeve( about 3/16 inch in diameter 3/4 inch long) threaded on one end with a hole in the other with a set screw or some other kind of attachment. I'm not sure what they were called but he said it was common in the aircraft industries. I know that is kinda vague but that repair has lasted 15 years so far on my 55.. Tedd
