Brake Lines 1954 88
Hi there!
I want to fabricate new brake Lines for my 1954 Rocket 88.
Unfortunaely i dont have the old ones. (car came without brake parts).
So heres my question:
What Brake Lines do i have to order (which Diameter, 3/16" front, 1/4"rear)?
And what threads do the fittings have (master cylinder, wheel cylinders etc..).
I hope somebody can help me.
Best regards, Dave

Your car probably has a mix of 1/4 and 3/16. So it's hard to start from scratch, with no old ones to go by. Most GM cars had 3/16 going to the 4 wheels, but a 1/4" one going from the front to the rear"T".

Except that they claim to include the special flare nuts where appropriate. Of course, you can get those flare nuts in an assortment pack from any of the tubing vendors. Given that hte 54 is a single circuit brake system, I doubt it even uses any special flare nuts. They are only used to prevent incorrect connections where that matters. With one circuit, it doesn't matter.

Brake lines
Give this guy a call, I bought the entire set of lines with all flaring and fittings for my 1955 Super 88, just needed to do the bending. all the lengths were right.
He sells mostly E bay, so you need to call to get his part numbers and prices
