the Jetwaway of my "57 Oldsmobile does not shift into the next gear (2.). The car stood for a few years, the gearboxes were in the trunk. I had checked it and was told that it should work.
P = does rear axle not rotate
N = works, no drive
D = Drive only 1st gear
S = Drive only 1st gear
L = Drive only 1st gear
R = Auto reverse
What is that? Does anyone have a tip for me?

You have to make sure that the TV rods are in perfect adjustment, otherwise it may not shift correctly. Get a copy of the Chassis Service manual and pay close attention to the full range throttle adjustments off the carburetor, they pretty much have to be exact.
many thanks for the quick answer. I hung up the rods (TV rods) as it was, thought more I don't have to do. OK, stupid of me. I have the workshop manual for Hydrak and I try to adjust it exactly according to it.
