53 spin on oil filter?

Hey fellas,
I'm looking into changing over to a spin on oil filter, I've done a bit of searching and can only find this kit (see link), does anyone know of any other kits out there? or have you done this conversion on your ride?

I have read that the filter base from a 1961 olds engine will fit with no modifications, but I
personably have never checked it out! Larry

That is about the right price for one. I have one on my 54 and think it is great. You don't have to fool with that nasty old canister and getting oil all over you and making sure the gasket is in right. I am sure the old cartridge type filters are had to get in the UK while the spin on should be readily available.

Any filter adapter off any 394 any year will fit right on your car or you can get them new from Ross Racing Engines...... Tedd

Nigel,

Were you able to solve the rough running engine? I don't remember seeing a solution.

Valve train oiling?

It was a busted Valve spring Dave ...I posted a vid in that thread, so i've bought all new springs, rods & lifters just in case.

Nigel,

I had remembered that but didn't know if you have run it since to try it. Keep us posted, and keep up the good work.

Thumbs up Update

Just to update this thread for those wishing to do this....

I fitted the new Oil Filter adapter, it was a breeze to do and is working a treat, no leaks no issues.
