Guys, I don't have my maintenance manual, having my 53's alignment done next Tuesday, can anyone please post up the specs so I can give them to the man?

I don't have the 1953 Olds Shop Manual. Here's what's in the 1955 Olds Shop Manual:
Caster angle degrees**: 0 to -3/4
Camber degrees**: -3/4 to + 3/4
Toe-in: 1/16 inch to 1/8 inch
King pin inclination (at 0 degrees camber): 5 degrees 51' 10"
Toe-out: 23 degrees +/- 1/2 degree
Tread: 59 inches
**Maximum variation between the two sides of the car should not exceed 1/2 degree.



The first three specs. are the ones I usually use. I just put all of it in case you need it.



I have some old (non-Olds) books at the other house that may have the '53 specs in them. If I can find them, I'll re-post.

Ozzie, your a gent, much appreciated. I really hope this guy is able to do it, every other shop has said no when they actually get the car on the ramp.

I got lucky and found the old book. This is a Glenn's Auto Repair Manual from 1961 (a Chilton Publication). It goes back to 1949. These specs are given a bit differently from the ones I found before and are a little different from the '55. It says that 1949-53 are the same and 1954-56 are the same. Here's what it shows for 1949-53:



Caster degrees: N3/8
Camber degrees: P1/4
Steering axis inclination degrees: 4.5
Toe in (inches): 3/32
Toe out on turns (degrees): Inner wheel:20 degrees; Outer wheel: 23 degrees



I'm assuming that the N is for negative and the P is for positive. It doesn't show any "tolerance" range as did the Olds shop manual. But if all your components are without "play" (looseness), this should get you aligned.
