so I have both a long shaft TH400 and a short shaft TH400. im stuffin a 455 in my 64 cutlass convertible and I dont know what the difference is between these trannys other than the length of the shaft. Is one better than the other? what would you put in?

I'd put in whatever one I had the correct driveshaft for if they both work fine.

There is no other difference except the vehicles they came in. The short came in A bodies and the long came in B & C bodies.

X2 on above post.
