Pulled the Muncie out of my project and it is a 1966 unit with a VIN stamp of 6E175510. PLEASE let me know if anyone owns this car or knows who owns it. I will trade outright trans for trans to reunite this one to its' original car!

Doubt it came from a 66 Olds. Plant E was Pontiac,MI and I've never seen a 66 Olds have a vin # on a Muncie trans. The earliest I've seen a vin stamping on a Muncie is 67. Very nice gesture tho.

DANG IT!! I did a plant decode by VIN.. Started with Buick, which has no E plant code.. The Pontiac, Chevelle, then Olds. Casting numbers all come back to 66-67 Muncie. Date code is P0123 (whuch places the trans for a 66). On the top of the trans (not on the side near the date code like the 68-72's), I found a partial VIN stamp of 6E175510....From what I have read, 66's did NOT have VIN stamps. This car is just getting odder by the moment... The data plate doesn't have a week code, just a month code (11).. It's a 70 Buick GS, with a partial VIN of 7555..

Just wanted to follow up... Here is a picture of the VIN stamp.. It's either 6E or 6L. So, it appears this 66 Muncie has a partial VIN stamp.. ?
