I have my trans out of my car and on its back and trying to install this shift kit but I can't for the life of me get this Pressure Regulator out so I can change the spring. I have bounced it a few hundred times with a plastic screwdriver but it will not spring all the way out, any ideas on what to do besides weld a bolt on the end to finish pulling out? (<~~ I was kidding about the welder idea...)

If it flat out refuses to come out, put the pan back on, start the engine, put it in reverse, 250psi of line pressure will most definitely push the boost valve into the pan.

I was hoping to install the shift kit on the bench while it is out of the car...

I got it out, whew. Made a tool, said a prayer and poof, it came out. Now that this is down I can marry the trans to the new motor and drop them in the car. Hopefully... That's another Sunday job.
