67 power glide

Hey guys, got a question on swapping transmissions. I currently have a 2 speed power glide "console shift" in my 67 cutlass supreme. I will be swapping it with a 2 speed from a steering column shift (also 67 cutlass).
Are there any pitfalls or should this be a clean 1 for 1 swap ?

thanks as always Brian

#1, if its the stock trans you don't have a power glide, its an ST300 with a switch pitch torque converter. If your swapping with another 67 ST300 then its a clean swap.

As Eric pointed out, Olds never installed a Powerglide. Other than having two speeds, the ST300 (also called Jetaway in the factory literature) has exactly nothing in common with the PG.

The trans neither knows nor cares if the shifter is on the column or the floor. You will have to swap the correct shift lever onto the trans manual shift shaft, but that's one nut. Other than that, there is no difference.
