63 F85 Clutch Lever Boot

My 63 f85 with 3 speed manual trans uses a dust boot at the trans housing which consists of a wire frame with a leather covering. The wire frame is formed with bent up lugs which clip into the bell housing. There is a slit in the leather for the lever. The leather is badly torn, so I need to find a new one. All the catalogs refer to a rubber boot which is not the correct size. Anyone have any ideas?

I am following this thread. This is an area that I will likely have to explore myself someday. I hope the one on my car is good enough to restore and not have to worry about it but I would still be interested in knowing more about this if someone knows.
