My 1969 Cutlass flat top wagon has Rocket 350 2bbl with a TH400, the numbers all match.

I thought the Rocket 350 came with the TH350????

It was common for the wagon to the the TH400. It also might have a tow package on it and that would for sure get the TH400.

No, it really wasn't, at least not on the flattop wagons. VC's got the TH375, which is a low-rent TH400 with the smaller TH350 output shaft and light duty internals. Here's the 1969 SPECS booklet page that lists the trans options for the Cutlass wagons:



To the OP: What numbers "match"? You've verified that the VIN derivative on the trans case matches the VIN of the car? What's the two letter tag on the trans case?

The output shaft is the same diameter as the other two th400's I have.
