73 El Camino 4 Spd Parts Swapped Into Automatic 70 Cutlass 350/350--Will It Work?

I have the opportunity to purchase the complete 4 speed stick shift set-up from a 1973 El Camino SS donor car. The El Camino currently has a 454 big block in it. The transmission is a Muncie M21.

My car is a 70 Olds Cutlass Covertible. Currently the 70 Olds has a 350 CI with a TH 350. I will be installing a 500 HP .060 455 and true Chevy 12 bolt as soon as I get the 4 speed transmission swap sorted out. I currently have the following parts to facilitate the swap to a stick in the Olds: Uncut automatic console, floor shift steering column, floor shift speedo, bucket seats.

My question: Can I use all the 4 speed parts from the 73 El Camino to convert my 70 Cutlass to a 4 speed stick shift car--stock configuartion? The El Camino is complete with all four speed parts still in the car. We are talking pedals, linkage, shifter, clutch, pressure plate, bell housing, and all the various parts needed to make my auto Olds a four speed.

Thank you for your help guys. Time is of the essence. Just found these parts on Craig's List so I think they will be gone if I don't respond quickly.

Appreciate your help.

David

The only part that will work is the transmission. NOTHING else fits a 68-72 car. The 73-77 cars are different. The bellhousing is Chevy pattern. The pedals are for a 73-77 car. The Z-bar is for a Chevy motor. The shifter may or may not be usable.

Frankly, manual trans setups for the 73-77 cars are pretty rare. You might be better off selling those parts and buying the correct parts for your Olds.

I'd be interested in whatever parts you can't use. I have a '75 Chevy Laguna S-3 that is begging for a 4 spd setup. Particularly interested in the floor console if it has one. Thanks.

worth?

Thanks for the feedback. What are the parts worth--round numbers. Not sure about the console. He did tell me it was an SS car with a 454.
