700R Transmission mount question

OK, I'm installing a 700R in my 71 Vert. Does the old stock transmission mount from my old T350 work? The original mount is wasted away, and a replacement aftermarket part that I bought is way too thick, the trans hits the tunnel, and I still can fit the mount in. Maybe you have to modify the crossmember, I hope not! Thanks for the input,,,,,,,

I have a 700 in my 72 its been a few years since i put it in but if i remember right I got a mount for a 700 the crossmember needed just a little notching to make it work and you do have to slide it back because the 700 is longer than the turbo 350 and of corse the driveshaft will have to be shortned

Maybe the mount is the wrong one. I have a newer wagon, and the mount they sell for the 700R4 is about an inch too tall. If I use that mount, I can not get the trans in my car, where it came out of. Check for a Corvette trans mount, that might fit. I am not sure what one does fit, because the guy who rebuilt my trans did not share that with me. The one he used has a bolt from the bottom instead of a stud on the mount.
