Turbo 400

I have always been a big fan of the GM Turbo 400 and I was what modifications are necessary to replace the Jetaway transmission in my 67 F85 with the 330 engine with the TH 400.. I have read that the TH 350 conversion is fairly simple.
Thanks to all.

You would be better off going with the TH350 swap. The TH350 uses less HP and it will hold up just fine to the 330 engine. If you go to the TH400 you will need a shorter drive shaft and the bigger yoke.

You can't use a stock carb with the turbo 350, no way to hook up the detent cable. I put a turbo 400 in my 66 very happy with the way it came out.

He can use a stock carb with a t350, there are aftermarket cable kits. To answer the t400 question, you'll need to move xmember back to the rear holes, you'll need a new drive shaft, your current kick down switch on the linkage can be used, and the ebrake intermediate cable will nee to be changed. The shifter linkage can be used and will work fine as is, however the indicator will be a bit off from 1st thru drive. You will need a new torque convertor for either trans.

Is there an existing drive shaft that will fit or will one have to be fabricated?

I never tried to hunt one down, but yes, you can find one from a 67 442 or a Turnpike cruiser. Its not that expensive to get one made, mine was around $300 with Ujoints.
