Need info on a trans hooked to a 61 olds 371
Hello everyone My name Is Kevn, I need advise..
I have just purchased and new half build project and as I have bee involved in many VW projects I want to get into a real American project....
I have purchased a Rat Rod and the as it is made up of many many different parts the eng. and trans are an Olds.
the eng. is a 371 and it is attached to what I think is the orig. trans, I was told it was a Hydromantic 4 speed
I am trying to work on a shift linkage for this baby but I have NO idea how the shifting works or where park is let alone drive and Neutral. can anyone direct me to info on this type of stuff.
Thanks for your help with this

I am trying to mount some kind of a shifter on the floor and how do I know where Park , Drive and Reverse are at to know where to mount the shifter and design a linkage.

61-64 Olds big cars only used the 394 engine, and also only used the Roto 10 hydramatic also known as the "Slimjim". A very troublesome transmission if not taken care of. You sure you don't have a 59 or 60 Olds? The picture looks like a DC hydramatic used in Oldsmobiles from 56-60.
