My62F85

Hello,

I have had my 62 F85 for just about 2 months and I have just started hearing a load buzzing noise coming from the automatic transmission. It does not always happen but it typically happens when I shift out of park. Sometimes it will go away when I put it to a different gear then back to drive or reverse. Other times it stays buzzing until the car starts moving.

Yesterday it happened and I put it back in park and the buzzing stayed on so I was able to locate the noise as coming from the transmission. Any ideas as to what is causing this and what should be done to fix it?

First thing I would do is check the transmission fluid level. Transmission warmed up, idling in park.

X2 on check fluid level. Roto HydraMatics are known to buzz when fluid is low. Probably pump cavitation from where it's trying to suck and pump air.

The dip stick is not the correct one for this car I was told by the previous owner. It may very well be low on fluid.
