Toughest - 4l80E ($$$) or TH400 Heavy horsepower sappers but nearly indestructible. 4L is overdrive, req floor mods.

Easiest/Cheapest - Built TH350 Light reciprocating parts, tough & dependable. Spares/parts/accys in the cosmetic aisle @ CVS.

Have Cake & Eat It Too - Built 200-4R ($) Mostly bolt in, overdrive, must be built by 200 specialist. Enjoy low gear @ track & OD on highway. Mid priced. If not built right you'll go through them like oil filters.

Any preference as far as brands are concerned?

Are you going to do the install?
If not what part of the country are you in? Plenty of great builders. Closer sometimes works out better if you need problem solving.
Tv cable is the most important part. Getting it in and adjusted correctly can not be taken lightly. This is what tells the trans how much pressure to deliver. Hit the extreme automatics site and tvmadeez.com and read up. It is very important.
How much power do you plan to put through it? Slicks, sticky dot tires and lots if trips to the strip? The harder you plan to beat on it the more upgraded parts you will need.
Let us know.
