Hurst shifter arm replacement 4 speed

How do I get the Hurst shifter arm off the linkage? I have a console curved shifter I want to install and need to remove the straighter shift arm. Thanks. Jon

Slide an .020 to .025 feeler gauge down the center of the shifter arm on the Drivers Side. It will be snug. When you are down about 3/4", pull straight up on the shifter handle. It should come right out.

Thanks. Shot it with blaster and put metal down the driver's side. No luck. I am going to try the razor blades on both sides next. I have bad feeling. My console shifter has a bolt hole and no detents. I can probably convert but already chromed it. One of those lost Saturdays. Thanks again.
