Stuck axle bearing outer race???

Hi guys I have my axels out but on the driver side the outer race is still in there....... It will spin in the housing and I can get it to move outward about 1/4 of a inch but then it stops !

I tried using a pick and work my way around bit by bit but its a no go

Can I use a bit of heat to get this sucker out??

Believe it or not, I had the *inside half* of the outer race stuck in the housing.
I used the claw of a standard claw hammer to get it out. The curve was just enough to get a tiny hold to work it out.

A couple of things come to mind, if you have welder than cut a piece of key stock and lay it inside the race and weld it, let it cool and then use a slide hammer.

Stuff a rag inside the axle tube back far enough (metal shavings) that when you use a die grinder to grind the race thin enough and hit it with a chisel and hammer and break the race, you may have to do this on two sides and pry out the pieces.

Call around to your local auto part purveyors. Many have a loan/rent a tool program. There is an attachment for a slide hammer that "folds", is inserted past the race, unfolded and the slide hammer can operate with it to remove the race.
You'll spent more time getting it rounded up than using it to get the race out.
