Dual gate shifter problems
I am helping a friend with a 1971 cutlass supreme with a floor shift hurst dual gate shifter. He just bought this car and the shifter is not setup right. In park it doesn't move the colum collar far enough to get the ignition key out. The indicator is off in all gears. This car was originally a column shift and was converted with the console and dual gate. I don't know if there are any missing brackets, or if it has the correct shift cable. I am hoping someone here has detailed instructions or a diagram that shows how to convert it properly.

There is an adjustment slot on the cable end that attaches to the transmission ear (on the side of the trans). We had a discussion about this very recently, like within the last 2-3 weeks. This is an older thread but it has some good info on adjusting the cable:
