Question Crossmember Insulator advice requested

In the power train rebuild of my 71 Cutlass Supreme convertible, I've removed the transmission support crossmember. It didn't have insulators where it attaches to the frame rails. The crossmember was bolted directly to the frame rails. The '71 AIM doen't show that the original assembly included insulators, however I see that insulators are available, so I'd like to ask for advice from those who may have experience with them. Does this affect the alignment of the transmission and drivesaft? If added, I'm guessing that different bolts will be needed. Any experience or opinion is welcome.

Thanks,
Don

Pontiac and Buick used the insulators, but Olds and Chevy did not. I'm not sure why there was a difference between the manufacturers, but that's what I've seen. The ends of the crossmembers that have insulators are slightly different than the ends of the crossmembers that bolt directly to the frame.
