TH350 versus TH400?

Silly question of the day - what is the major differences between the TurboHydro 350 and the TH400? Thanks...

The TH350 is smaller, lighter, and has lower internal drag. The TH400 is stronger (in stock form).

Ok, thanks! About what I thought.

So if I wanted to rebuild my TH350 to be as strong as a TH400, or strong enough to handle the 650 BHP I'll have here soon, how best to go about that? Local tranny shop with replacement internals, or someone I need to send it to? If the latter, where to get the stronger internals?

I would check the websites of some of the AT specialty houses - Art Carr, TCI, Hughes, etc. They all market beefed TH350 transmissions as well as the stronger internal parts you'll need.
