Jetaway torque converter

Had to have some work done to a 67 Cutlass Jetaway trans. Builder suggested a new torque converter after rebuild. Of course he has no clue where to find one. I know these are switch pitch units. My question is would a unit from say a TH350 work? Not interested in upgrading to a 3 speed, this is going in my Buick (replacing the Super Turbine) which I plan to sell in the spring. Thanks.

If you have a 67 Jetaway with the switch pitch torque converter, then no, you can't use a TH350 converter. I got a rebuilt switch pitch converter for my TH400 from Fatsco for $104 a year ago. They need the old one as a core.

Dacco still catalogs both sizes, or at least did the last time I checked.

Thanks. I didn't think so, but thought I'd ask. I have 3 switch pitch converters and know one is likely bad. Also have one from a Super Turbine Buick from 65. Any chance that is the same?

Which "Super Turbine"? The ST300 is a Jetaway. The ST400 is a TH400.

The 300. They are not exactly the same, at least between the 65 and the 67 as the 67 has a solenoid inside.

Every ST300 has a solenoid on the valve body for the kickdown. Only V8 versions of the ST300 have the second solenoid for the switch pitch converter. If your Buick ST300 came from a V6 car, it won't have the switch pitch and the converter is different.
