Adding TH400 kickdown switch

Need some advise and instruction please.

car is a 72 and had a TH350 in it...swapping in a TH400.
i got. Th400 bracket and kick down switch, installed it and I need clarification on a few things.

1. Do I need to disconnect the existing Th350 kickdown wire ? I fee like it’s interfering with operation and a see a note in the ASM but it’s unclear
2. My gas petal has no movement once I press it down...the lockdown switch seem to keep it from springing back freely

what am am I missing and what adjustments do I need to perform ?

The TH350 accelerator pedal is different from those used on the TH400 and MT cars. The TH400 pedal does not have the second tab that the TH350 kickdown cable attaches to. As you can see, that tab interferes with the TH400 switch. You should take the pedal off the car and grind that tab off so that there is no rubbing on the switch, or else get the correct pedal.
