1985 Snowmobile Toronado

Freezing drizzle overnight and fluffy pancake snow falling all day, today, in the Mile High City..

I had forgotten what a pleasure it is to drive my 1985 Toronado on Ice-Slickened & Snowy Roads.

I have Studded Snow Tires and Disc Brakes at all 4 corners.

It stops... It goes... It corners... It is absolutely lovely!

I just have to watch out for the fools not fortunate enough to be in such a wonderfully capable vehicle... Sliding through intersections... unable to get going again once they gave stopped... Bouncing off curbs while unable to steer...

*heavy sigh*

I know their pain. I spent two miserable winters in Denver (really Litton) driving a bug eye sprite as my only car... First to put on chains... last to take them off..... Tedd

Howdy Tedd!

Were you in Littleton? I commute from Denver to Littleton 6 (and sometimes 7) days a week, all year round!

Brave of you driving a Bug-Eye Sprite in serious snow... maybe even suicidal! Folks in their SUV's & Pickups tend to not see you 'way down there'! In either case, I am glad to hear that you survived!

I drove a Puch 500 (2-Cylinder, Air Cooled) Car, not a Bike, and a 68 Bug through a few winters while residing in the mountains... Miserably Cold Vehicles! Scraping the ice off of the inside of the windshield & windows... YUCK! But, they were always shod in Studded Snow Tires for winter operations and I always had chains with me. I may have been cold, but I got where I was going!
