Toronado owners, what do you use for a console?
I need a place to store my stuff, but most consoles are meant to go over a transmission hump. What are you Toro owners using for a console? Not permanently mounted, of course.

I wound up using a generic cup holder / console for a truck. It doesn't sit completely flat, but you can't really tell, and it's stable. We have plenty of cigar lighters, but cup holders weren't a thing yet

Just go to Amazon and search under "auto console." There's literally dozens of them with flat bottoms that would work great on a flat-floor Toronado. Pick something in the style and color you like.
This is just a sampling.

Yep, I have something similar to some of those. If you look at the pictures, you'll see some of them have a slight rounding on the bottom. Trust me, when it's in the car, you won't notice that part at all.

The console that was optional equipment on the '69 Toronado included a floor shifter. Converting from column to floor shift is not trivial, and it seems like an awful lot of work just to have a place to put your cup of coffee...which you couldn't do, anyway, because the factory console did not have cupholders.
