1970 Toro rear brake cable
hey guys,
any idea if the rear brake cables for 1966/67 may interchange with 1970?
already got the intermediate cable for my 1970 toro, but there are no aftermarket rear e-brake cables for 1970...inlinetube seems to have one for 1966/67
just need to confirm if the end fittings are the same. system looks to be the same as 1970 (long intermediate cable - equalizer below rear seats - rear cable connecting left and right drum brakes)
cheers

I've got a 1967 Toro parts car that I've recently cut up the body and removed from the frame. I can easily take measurements or photos of the rear emergency brake cable. What would help? Photo of where it attaches to the brake shoe? John

The way it connects to the brake shoe is the same as other cars of this vintage. Below is a photo of that. The length of cable from backing plate to backing plate is about 84 inches. Not precisely that length, as its hard to make the tape measure follow the shape of the cable. That also doesn't count what's in with the brake shoes, so that would likely add another 8-10 inches. If it becomes critical I can measure that for you. John

I got to thinking about it, and this measurement might be important. Plus or minus half an inch should be pretty close. This is from the backing plate to the support attached under the floorpan.
