425 cam bank angle ID

I am sure this has been discussed before maybe lots of times but did not find the info I was looking for. Sometimes the search mode is not that productive. Could be me.

I found this info. and those of you in the know might be able to help.

This is from 442.com

Is this true??

425 #D coded block (66-67 NON - Toro all were 45 degree and had .841" lifters)
425 #D coded block (66-67 Toro all were 39 degree and had .921" lifters

Maybe Joe P. or someone with similr knowledge can help.

I have a D block but not sure what it came out of.

Thanks in advance.
Larry

67 425s were supposedly 39 deg. even with the .842" lifters. I'd check with a dowel in adjoining lifter bores and see if the included angle is 90 deg. or less using a piece of paper as an indicator of 90 deg.

I have what I believe is a 66 block, came with B heads and toro intake as well as other parts that were all aftermarket. Lifters are same as 455 I had one I could compare to.

Not sure of cam bank angle.

I know there's an old thread from several years ago with pictures and details on different ways to measure this. I don't remember who created the thread, but I believe several members added to it. If I can come up with it I'll post the link.

It is pretty easy, big lifter = 39* small lifter = 45*
I'm sure there are exceptions, but 99.9 % there it is.
