71 fuel sending unit

I ordered a new sending unit for my 71 Cutlass from YearOne. It has the two metal lines but the one I removed from the tank only had the single 3/8 line.

Which is the correct unit?
Thanks

Looks like you need the single line sender 2112NR, Year One has always been easy to get along with! see if they will take it back assuming that it dosen't have any marks from installing?

I would have ordered the same one myself! OPG shows the single and dual line pickup for 1971 but Year one shows only the double line!

Regards, Pat

I don't see why you can't use the unit you have.

I replaced the sending unit on my '67 Delta 88, a car without air conditioning, so the fuel pickup unit had only one line, with a unit made for a '72 Buick Le Sabre, as there was no unit available for my car, and the Buick unit was a drop-in replacement.

The Buick unit had two lines, though, the fuel pickup line and a vapor return line. I just capped the return line with one of those vacuum line caps and a hose clamp. That was about 1.5 years ago, now, and it's worked just fine ever since.

Of course, if there actually IS a correct unit available for your car, you might as well get it. But my point is that you could most likely make the one you have work.
