1969 Cutlass wagon rear end gears
Hello, I am trying to find out what rear end gears a 69 Cutlass wagon rear end gear would be, with 350 and 2 barrel, power glide with air.I have not been able to locate any information on line for this. Thanks in advance for any information.

First you don't have a Powerglide. You have an ST300 (called Jetaway by Olds) that has exactly nothing in common with a Powerglide. No parts interchange. Second, while the standard gears with the L65 and Jetaway were 2.78:1, there were six other ratios optionally available.

I would encourage you to remove the inspection cover and check the ring gear to see what's stamped in it. Then you'll know for sure what you have, and you can put fresh gear oil in the rear end while your at it. As Joe said, there are options and who knows for sure what it has in it. Many many years ago I pulled a limited slip rear end out from under a base model 1970 F85. The car had a six cylinder engine, rubber floor mats, no options of any kind... except for the rear end! Thanks for the information, I was unaware that even with the 2 speed transmission you could have so many options, I call all 2 speed transmissions a power glide, and had forgotten the actual name of the Oldsmobile version ST300. Thanks again and the chart is exactly what I was searching for.
