timing

'65 330, mild cam, no ac, has pwr steering, 600cfm carb, alum intake, no headers. trying to figure out the optimum timing for this engine. engine has small stumble off idle otherwise running good.

If timing checks out OK could be the accelerator pump starting to go bad.... Just a thought ...Tedd

Ted, I was playing around with the vacuum gauge and my 1966 Dynamic, and it turns out that this was a very effective (but unusual) way to set timing and tune the carb, all basically at the same time. The car really sings now! http://automotivemileposts.com/garage/v2n8.html

Ted: The only part that didn't work for me was turning the idle as far down as you can get without stalling out. For me, it worked better just to leave the idle in a normal range. --Craig
