Kind of my thoughts as well. But those of us tuned-in to the W36 dimensions and correct positioning will spot the difference 👍

Nice car BTW. The body gaps look spot on.

PIM's are great for reference but they are not always correct. I have found over the years that assembly line production sometimes differs from the PIM. Jeff's pictures and dimensions are from a pair of original fenders,so why did they vary from the PIM? I'm not busting chops here but just pointing out how things were done in the day.

The stripe measurements from my original '68 fenders were duplicated when the car was repainted. The space between the narrow stripes and the larger one is 1/2" on both fenders. The 5/8" gap looks just as well, in my opinion, and I don't think I would notice that difference while observing either car. It's just nice to see the stripe in the correct position!

Hi Randy. I used your car as reference. I saw it featured in Hemming's. You're right, hard to tell the difference. Nearly impossible to find vintage photos of W36 optioned cars, consistant with what Joe said about hardly any 68s rolling off the line with that option.

to me the bottom pic’s outer thin stripes are slightly narrow than the white gap between them and the main centre stripe
