I'm not an expert with rear ends. But I don't think they built a Hurst Olds in 1970. I believe the SH code rear end could have come in the 442 and W31 and possibly as an option in the Cutlass. One of the guru's who knows or has references will clarify this. Just to be sure, would you post the casting number off the rear end to help make sure its a 1970?

Like you stated, SH is 3:42 ratio and was available 1970 cutlass/442 models. As 2blu442 stated, no Hurst in 70.

There is no such thing as a specific Hurst Olds rear end, but there are certain rear ends that were used in a Hurst Olds. The point being that you can't authenticate that a particular rear was from a H/O as the same rear could have been in a 442, but you can discount some rears due to the available application.

More to the point, there is no such thing as a 1970 Hurst/Olds.

I have heard that H/O hurst olds (miss) story before.. I have a 1970 SH axle under one of my 1972 cars and did try and find info on that
They are not as sought after as TM code axles are .... BUT
That should be a fairly valuable axle if in nice condition
All the best
