hub and bearing assembly

Has anyone tried to replace a hub and bearing assembly on a '97 FWD 88?
Just wondering how involved the job is? Thanks!

First remove axle nut, remove caliper and rotor. Disconnect the stabilizer bar from the control arm. To make it easier remove the nut from the ball joint, and tie rod end removing them from the knuckle. Then you can unbolt the hub from the knuckle. The bolts are 55 torx head. Also it's a good idea to replace dust seal that's behind the hub. Also grease up the outside of the hub before installing it.

Smile Nutty

I usually loosen the big nut with the tire still on the car and on the ground...once it is loose remove the tire and carry on...my first one on a '93 98 took me two hours and I did not hurry, subsequent jobs takes half hour less...

Were any specialty tools required to do the job? (spring compressor, puller etc...) My garage is pretty well equipped, but I'd hate to be unprepared)

A tool to remove the tie rod end from the knuckle, 55 torx wrench, and axle nut socket. Other than that just basic hand tools.

The only special thing I used was 3/4 drive socket on the big nut, and the 55 torx socket...I did not use a puller, just tapped the unfastened hub with a hammer...maybe a small pry bar...
