1967 330 rear main seal fixes
I have a 67 330 hi comp. with a slight rear main bearing seal leak. The factory service manual discribes a fix leaving the engine in. It requires servicing the upper part of the worn seal by punching it further in the block and butting short pieces of the old bottom seal to fill the upper grove. I wonder of this really works. Anyone have experience with this fix.
I have health issues and do not cherish the thought of pulling the motor for this quarter size oil leak.

You can replace the seal with the engine in the car, but it is FAR easier to leave a pie tin under your parking space and ignore it.
This problem is definitely categorized under "Don't sweat the small stuff."
