What kind of performance to expect?

I just had my 350 Rocket rebuild for my 1972 Cutlass Supreme and I'm wondering what kind of performance should I expect?

The car has:

Edelbrock Performer Intake
Lunati Voodoo 262 Cam
Holley Street Avenger 770
#7a heads
Compression I believe was 9:1
Bored over .030
Hooker Long Headers
2.5 inch exhaust all the way through
Spintech Super 9000 Mufflers
Eaton Posi

Around 300 crank HP, 240 at the wheels, should run low 14s, depending on gear, converter, and traction. That carb is a tad big.

I thought the carb was a little big as well as I originally had a 650 edelbrock but the guy at the shop that rebuilt my motor insisted that I needed atleast a 750 because of something with the way the intake is made?? Beats me...I started the car for the first time this morning and I'm excited! Can't drive it yet until I put some brakes on that bad boy but I'm ready to see what I have!

These cars came stock with a 750 cfm Q-jet, but that can be misleading. It should be fine as long as it is dialed in. The car won't be a barn-burner, but should be responsive with decent low rpm torque, and most importantly, fun to drive. What gear is in it?

That's mainly what I was looking for, a responsive car with low end power. It has 3:42 gears in it.

fwiw I ran 13.89's with a mild 350 in my 72 when it was still in all steel form and a gutted interior. It was a 73 350 freshened up and 72 heads with a comp 260h cam edelbrock performer intake 600 cfm carb hei full length headers 9 to 1 compression running only the water pump and alternator. I went to a 3.73 gear and saw no real gain in performance then I added an x pipe and went 13.8's all day. I did a lot of tinkering to get my mild build to run what it did. But it was very very mild.

Sounds like I'll be satisfied...I don't plan on doing a lot of flying in the car but when I want it to get up and go I don't want to be disappointed! Those times you all are mentioning are 1/4 mile times I take it?

Yes. If they were 1/8 mile times you would be sorely dissapointed I assure you!

What cam are you refering to when you say 'Voodoo 262'? Are you refering to the one with 213/219 duration @ .050 lift ( 256/262 advertised )? If so, and you really have 9:1 CR, you have a good tune, and you get decent traction with some drag radials, you could dip into the 13's.

I don't think the 770 is a mistake, my engines (Olds) always liked bigger carbs than Chebbies. I feel they need a 750 at least.

Normally I agree, but his build is very mild. And I did say it would be OK.
