Head gasket for 350 olds
New poster here. First want to say nice sight. Looks like plenty of good info here.
Putting together a 350, original 1972 block and 7A heads. Engine will be around 9.7-1 compression, mild cam. Was wondering which brand and part# head gasket most here use. Also, is there a reason why a fel-pro #1155 will not work on a 350?

Thanks for the reply
I've done a few 455's and always used the 1155.These engines were for marine use or had higher compression and aluminum heads. Fel-pro catalog lists #1155 for 455 only. Not sure why.
I guess I'll go with the 8171.

I used the cheaper Felpro head gaskets on a 9.6 to 1 350. I had pinging issues from crappy quench and too small of a cam. They looked perfect a year later when I swapped the cam and heads.
