I put a set on my 70 Supreme 350 back in 1982 and liked them enough to put a set on the 71 convertible in 1990. I have been very happy with them.
Ground clearance is not an issue. The only time I scraped them was back in school, going over a railroad crossing at 40 MPH with 7 people in the car (a friend was driving, not me).
As for fit, one tube on the drivers side needed to be flattened slightly to give room for the end of the control arm at maximum suspension travel.

I had a set on my first '68, Cutlass S, with 350 4BBL and anti-spin. They fit great once in. This was way back in '79-ish. If I recall, I had to drop the stock starter, and lift up the header and starter in tandem. A buddy installed two exhaust bolts from the top to hold the header up, then he helped install the bolts on the starter while I held it in position. Plenty clearance all the way around, once installed.
I never had ground clearance issues, but that was because I had lifted the car with taller springs all the way 'round.
