QUESTION: I got new spark plugs for my 72 Olds 88. They are tapered and did not come with washers. Is this right? OR did they give me the wrong plugs?? The old plugs have washers and are not tapered. Thanks!

What's the brand and part number of your plugs? This question should be answerable in about 2 seconds once that information is provided.

As mentioned you got the wrong plugs. The tapered seats were used in the "A" body 6 cyl. engines. The AC numbers for your engine would probably be R44S, R45S, or R46S (or equivalents in other brands). Be sure to check the gaps before installing.

Yep, wrong plugs. Rock auto slipped those in with the list of correct plugs. I'm gonna do with R45S. Looks like R46S are no longer available, and I don't feel like chasing them down on ebay.
