Home made Oldsmobile motor mount straps

Hi All, I got tired of breaking my motor mounts and wanted a cheap way to solve the problem. It worked out pretty good. I used one strap per mount and the vibration isn't crazy. It's a relief not to have my T-5 shifter move sideways every time I go forward or reverse. They were simple to make, not to difficult to install, and made a world of difference.
Yes, a strong enough motor will shear them.( If it's that powerful, you should be using solid mounts anyway.)
I just wanted to share a simple solution to this issue.
Like the hotdog vender on the game Grand Theft Auto 4 says "I'm Not Liable, Enjoy!"

Nice set up. Love the "out of the box thinking"

This is kinda funny. Good stuff. I drilled a hole and stuck a grade 8 bolt through my motor mounts.

Never tried that with an Olds motor mount, but used that trick on many Chevy ones as a kid. Only did the left side though.

I made this from an old heim joint anda hinge from a cargo van. Made an alternator bracket to keep everything on the dr. side.

That's the area where I used a cut chain on my '71 Cutlass. My '88 Cutlass doesn't have the same room for these kind of brackets.
I miss my '71.
