Quick Help needed!

Hey guys, can anyone help me pretty quickly. I am putting the front timing cover back on my 350. It did not have a oil slinger when I disassembled it. I bought one on line that turned out to be wrong. I filed the crank hole larger for it to fit. When I try to install the cover with the slinger the way I think it should go the timing cover will not fit to the block. This is Pic 1. If I turn the slinger around the timing cover fits. Pic 2. The pic in the FSM is not very clear. Does it go like pic 1 or pic 2.
There is a member on here who has the correct NOS piece but I would like to put this together today if possible.

A picture from the web:

And another that indicates the slinger you have is not the correct one, which is likely why you're having issues with installation:

Thanks Jim,
Better for me to slow down and get the right thing, than try to make something work. I have a local engine builder looking through his stash of Olds stuff to see if he has something laying around.

I have a double roller on my engine and it didn't cause any issues with the oil slinger.
