Spark plugs arent sparking. It cranks but wont cut on. Happened yesterday and randomly started running and stayed running. Happened again today but did not stay running. It ran for about 10 seconds.
what could be the problem? Thanks

Check cap and rotor to start. Make sure ghe center button on coil is also good. Resistance check the pick up coil and actual coil. Usually modules and coils just die. The pickbup coil can be flakey but can die out of the blue.

Make sure you have voltage to the batt terminal on the cap first.

It’s probably the HEI Module at the bottom of the distributor. Replace it with dielectric grease between the module and distributor Body. It will start right up.

Cap, rotor, coil, ignition module, power source, pretty much anything in the ignition system. Systematic troubleshooting (and NOT replacing parts randomly) is you friend. Start by testing to see if you have power at the wire going into the BATT terminal on the HEI when the key is in START and RUN positions.
