Don't worry about issue i'll make later another post about engine repair .

First,i have bought a rotative engine stand. But i don't have bolts for install the blog on the stand.

I have found a bolt kit on summit but it cost 6$ but ar least 50$ for sending it to france.
Another kits on ebay are less expensive.

I don't know about the availability of SAE bolts sizes in France but the bolts you need are common here in the US. A local hardware store carried the bolts when I needed them no need to special order off eBay or summit. I don't know what sizes you need maybe someone else knows. FYI in the us there are many local stores that carry metric and SAE hardware for most homeowner type projects do you have similar stores in France?

The thread size is 3/8-16, which is standard SAE coarse thread (UNC). Length will depend on the length of the tubes that they need to pass through on your engine stand. Use at least Grade 5, preferably Grade 8 to ensure the engine doesn't land on your toes.

engine stand bolts

Could you use 4 bolts off the engine. Say, intake or exhaust manifold bolts or bracket bolts? Just temporarily to get it mounted to the stand?

Not even close to the right length. Most engine stand heads have at least 2" tubes, so the bolts need to be almost 3" long. Not a lot of 3/8-16 bolts on an Olds engine that are that long.

Hi.
Donīt buy all the nuts and Bolt in the US... waste of time and money.

I just bought threaded rods.. you can cut them to your desired lenght.

Dont buy the cheapest engine stand! Mine is rated for 1250 LBS... it looks scary if the engine is on it.

I don't know about that particular product, but most inexpensive threaded rod is low-strength. I would not trust my engine or toes to something like that without confirmation of the strength.

this one is "A2-70" Stainless steel... itīs rated between 6.8 and 8.8 regular bolts.

But they have got normal bolts in different lenghts ,too.

A2-70 is 304 SS and not very strong. The nuts will gall if stressed.

bolts

Just trying to figure a way to use bolts he already has if access to SAE stuff is hard for him to get. Some of the alternator brackets and air conditioning brackets have some fairly long bolts. Just a thought.
