403 Build help needed!
Wanting to rebuild a 403. Its been Bored .030 and the crank has been worked .010/.010.
I want to put it in my 85 delta 88 and use it as a daily driver. So im not looking to build anything crazy just something nice and smooth to drive and have fun with. I plan on keeping it for many many years to come. I was told by as wise man (olds 307 and 403) i should change the rear end. And at least put a shift kit. I plan on getting my 200r4 built to handle more HP and torque. Im looking at Phoenix transmission in weatherford right now and reading about their stuff. If you guys dont mind, go on the site (http://www.phoenixtrans.com) and take a look at what they do to the 200r4 and let me know what you think.
I need you folks to help me with picking parts. From bottom to top. Every single part this is going to be my first build. Im going to rebuild the original carb and use that because i like the qjet and the small primary and big secondaries.
I have been doing a lot of research man. This reminds me of the first guitar i built haha. There are a ton of options for ONE thing and a ton of manufacturers.
So just give me recommendations! Im all ears and need opinions! Thanks!
I live in fort worth, tx by the way so if anyone has recommendations for a trans shop and machine/engine builder shop let me know!

Since it is already .030" oversize, early 330 or 350 heads will work nicely with those cast dished pistons. The .039" KB pistons are also an option if further boring is needed. The original 800 cfm 403 carb is a good one but on the lean side, especially if you increase the compression and cam. Here is a good kit with available upgrades.http://www.northernautoparts.com/part/ek-er1170

Sounds like a sweet deal compared to what i was going to pay. ($550 but it has been bored and the crank has been worked). I really wish i had the money right now. Are you in a hurry to sell it?

I would have liked to sell it this week before I drive to Wisconsin on vacation. I could deliver it if you can get some cash or I also take Paypal , heck you can use Paypal Credit.. I do
FYI, it is better to see if the 403 can stay STD bore and if it barely needs to be bored start off at 020 rather than 030 over.
There should not be any crank damage on this one
