Help with starting the car after it's warmed up

Hey guys new here.. so I have a 1972 cutlass supreme 5.7l 350. 2 door convertible. I have upgraded a good amount of things, the problem I am having is after the engine is warmed up. In the morning the car starts right up, after it reaches about 190 degree and I turn it off wait a few minutes try to turn it on again and it struggles. I replaced the thermostat with a 180.. any suggestions?

Does the motor turn over normally and it just won't start or does it turn over slowly?

What do you mean by "it struggles"?

Are you cranking it while holding the throttle slightly open?

Is the yellow wire from the starter R terminal to the Coil (+) terminal connected?

Welcome to ClassicOlds.

Those Edelbrock carbs, much like factory AFB carbs are known for hot start issues. The fuel boils in the carb, a phonelic spacer or better yet a Qjet or Street Demon carb will fix it right up.

Welcome to the group... Possibility the choke is not opening all the way or not staying open after it is warmed up and you shut it off... On the restart, if the engine is warmed up, and choke is closed (or partially closed) starting can be difficult...

Welcome!
After its warmed up take the air filter off and the have someone shut the car off. Do you see fuel still pouring down into the intake? We need to rule out fuel related problems vs electrical problems.
