No, didn't return them, wouldn't provide a return authorization code, and wouldn't accept the return. Well, if I sent it to him, he would have accepted it I'm sure, but he wasn't going to send money back.

File a complaint with who? There's no one to file a complaint with that would provide a refund. I would have to sue him, and that's a mess, especially since it's under X dollar amount. Sure he knows that.

He basically told me to stuff it, and would only listen if I could PROVE it didn't work. How exactly does one do that? Drive up there with a car on a trailer and show him? His shop is 9+ hours away from me.

If someone has a suggestion, I'm all up for listening. But I will never recommend anyone to buy from him after the service I got, the whole experience was really bad.

If you dig you will find I'm not the first to be treated by him this way, he has a long history of this type of service/abuse. And yes, I dealt with DICK directly.

I've had good success filing disputes with my credit card in similar situations. Might be too late now, but something to keep in mind down the road.

I tried, the card I used didn't have purchase protection.

In a year I think I'm going to build a mild 455 for it anyway, and my options will open up some. I will revisit the accessory drive stuff then.

Dick Miller's stuff is suspect, at best.

I bought a timing chain set that he modified to advance or retard the timing.

My machine shop told me the holes drilled were way off, and the set was unusable.

Miller would not take it back, so I threw it away....and never bought anything else from him.

Crap is still sitting in a box in the basement, un-usable. I will never buy anything from Dick Miller again, and the more I dig, the more people I see/hear have had similar experiences with Dick Miller.

I just don't understand how places like that stay in business.

No change from last time you asked, still in a box in the basement collecting dust. You interested in it? I will sell it to you for $120, free shipping.
