Starting my '72 Cutlass project

Hello guys, I've been lurking around here for a while now and still have TONS to learn. I am talking to a local machine shop here tomorrow about my '72 350. It is all original except for the intake which i recently changed (had a 2 brrl) to a 4 brrl, edelbrock performer.

What I am wanting is a daily driver that still has some *****. I can not stand all the Ford mustangs we have around here that think they have something special just because it's a mustang. So I would like to spend my weekends burying their di*s in the ground. So I am open to suggestions from anyone that has them and thanks in advance for pointers. I have about $1100 atm to go into my cutlass. So hoping I can get alot done on that.

This is the place I plan on using www.totalengineservice.com , they come highly recommended from people that I trust and that have great running cars that I have personally seen and rode in.
