is this the right oil sending unit for my car?

Hello there,

I wonder if this Oil Pressure Sender is the right one for my 1975 Cutlass Salon 350.
Because it's leaking oil I want to replace it, but I doubt if this the right one. This thing didn't fit so they put a lot of Liquid Gasket (??) underneath.
Is there anyone who can tell me which Sender I need for my car?

From Holland with love.
Wally

No...
That kinda looks like one that came off my 78 Ford...

Here is what you need, courtesy of rockauto.com.

The top one and the middle one are for just the oil light.
The bottom one is if you have an oil pressure guage and not the light.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Rob!

It's incredible....I guess you're right. On the back of this thing is FORD ENGLAND printed.
Now I can choose between the first two options but what do you think?
I'm a US car newby so......

I hope you can give some more advice so I can order the right switch.

I would probably spring for the first one on the list. They both appear to be the same and I cannot figure what the differences are. Same thread, too.
My '72 uses the D8050 and it fits the picture perfectly.
Simple part with a simple function.

The prefix in my area is easy - 442!

I'm guessing that someone had to replace the original sender and just used a locally sourced one for convenience. The reality is that this is just an on/off switch that turns off if the pressure is over 4 psi. If the Ford switch has the same 1/8 NPT threads it will work fine.

Use a little thread sealant also, despite the sender having tapered "crush threads".
Your local parts stores will have this in small tubes.
