Oil Dipstick

Hey guys I just installed my rebuilt 350 engine but it came with the wrong dipstick. I cut down the one that came but I don't think that is the way to go, as it pulls out easily. I wanted to get the right length and one that attached physically to the motor. Can you verify for me if this is the right size? https://www.summitracing.com/parts/NAL-12625031

Unless your 350 is a Chevy motor, that tube won't work. You aren't going to find an Oldsmobile dipstick tube at one of the "big box" aftermarket stores. Supercars Unlimited has correct ones for Oldsmobiles.

I agree on the quality of the Supercars Unlimited tube and stick. I actually got mine in the block on my 260 but slightly distorted the top even with a block of wood and soft hammer. Seems like filing slightly is the answer. There is chrome replacements for Oldsmobile V8's from Summit. But they fit loose in the block and need the bottom ground off to fit in the block. The only nice part is the chrome tubes can be easily removed if headers are being used.

I'll add that I've found all the repro tubes to be too large in diameter at the beads that go into the block. The best thing to do is to measure the diameter of the beads on the original tube and simply file the new tube to match. Once you do that it slides right in just like OEM.
