Intake assembly question

Stupid question, but I figured Id ask anyway. When you get an intake gasket set for the SBO you dont get the valley pan. Are you supposed to use the valley pan along with the regular style gaskets or just the valley pan. Thanks.

Just the pan. You put sealant around the intake ports and RTV around the water ports.

And I've found it best to ditch the front and rear seals and just run a bead of RTV instead. It wont push out like the seals tend to.

You can get a complete metal intake gasket from Fel=Pro. There are cheaper ones that dont have the pan or Turkey Tray. I never had a problem using the front and back rubber seals along with a bead of black rtv on top of each.
